Well, my brother inspired me(and no, that is not a picture of my brother) and showed me this website. I am officially excited about this.

I built a box about 4' x 4' and 6" tall. Filled it with a special mix of compost(not homemade... maybe someday), Peatmoss and Vermiculite(which I didn't know what that was until today).
Tomorrow I plan to get the kids out there with me and we are going to begin planting.
Here is the list of vegetables we are going to try and grow:
Onion
Potato
Garlic
corn
Bell Pepper
among other things... still deciding.
This should be an exciting(hopefully fruitful) adventure....
