Murphy's Law (the First Law) casts a dark shadow on the Murphy name. "Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong." The Second Murphy Law is actually a deep secret. If the secret gets out it would disrupt the balance of the universe. Hence Murphys take all the ribbing for the first law to help distract anyone from wanting to learn the second law. The little known third law used to just be Murphy's Theory until recently. In the depths of this blog you will discover it’s truly an important law.

Wesley Mission Trip Help
As many of you know, Jill and I were deeply involved in the Wesley Foundation during our college years. God used that ministry in amazing ways to bless us, shape us, and mold us. We went on a number of mission trips that transformed us, and we still draw on those experiences. The students of the Wesley Foundation need our help. They have planned three major mission trips for this summer, and they need some help with the fundraising. I wanted to ask you to help out by sending $10 or $20 to help them out.
They are sending students to China, Cambodia, and Haiti.
If you can help please send your money to:

(put summer missions in the memo line)
If you want to read more about what is going on, see the letter below from Scott Wright.
Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Dear Friends,
I hope you are all doing well and that you are experiencing the truth and reality of Christ in your lives. I am writing because we have a tremendous need. We need to raise a significant amount for the mission trips for this year. We possibly bit off more than we should have (especially in this economy) but we are still committed to missional outreach and the incredible benefit mission trips are to college students. Trips expand student's understanding of the world and make it much more difficult to be self centered after experiencing a life changing trip. The students, then, return and are able to apply what they learn in their context. Aside from this, we are able to be the hands and feet of Christ in some areas of the world who desperately need hope and support (this year: orphanages in China, young adult leadership & ministry in Cambodia; reaching out to the desperate needs in Haiti).
We need you, the Body of Christ!
We are asking all of our friends to donate $10 or $20 (or more if you can) to the trip. We are then asking you to connect with 5 or 10 of your friends (of whom we may not know) and ask them to support this amazing mission by donating $10 or $20 each (they/you can donate @ LA TECH Wesley Foundation Fan page on Facebook through paypal or can send a check to Wesley Foundation designated for mission trip). I am asking you to help continue the legacy you left here and to invite others into the story of God through the Wesley Foundation at Louisiana Tech University. The world is changing significantly and we need to continue to infuse the Gospel of Christ into the lives of college students so they can be the light in a more darkened world that needs an explosion of Christ.
I am sorry I have not been in contact with some of you since you graduated. It is not for lack of desire and love. Life moves on at an ever quickening pace and the best intentions sit on the side of the road, but the one thing you need to know is God continues to use us in impacting the lives of college students because of the foundation you established. You are the "great cloud of witnesses" these students are surrounded by as they try to participate in this story of God. You helped to write some of the earlier chapters and for that, I am forever grateful. I love and appreciate all of you and can never communicate how thankful I am for you every day for who you have helped me become by living alongside you.
I pray I can be in touch with you much better throughout the coming year so please accept my apology if this is the first contact you have had from me since your leaving. Whether you feel it or not, you are and will be family to me/us (Marcie and I). We lived together in Covenant and I do not take that lightly. I would love to know how you are and what is happening in your lives.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and considering this call to arms. If you are willing and able to help, please message me back so we can have some idea what we can expect in our fundraising in the last two week of school.
I pray God will bless you and those closest to you. I pray you will experience the peace of Christ only He can give and I pray you will experience and walk in the power of God that raised Jesus from the dead. He is alive and well at The Wesley Foundation and I pray He is for you also.
Lastly, if YOU ever need anything, please let us know and we will do all we can to help. We love you even though, for some, it has been at a greater distance than I desire. Be well.
In Christ,
Scott Wright
